- seeking Susan Jukes - or any information as to her whereabouts....
During
the 1950's I was at school in Weston-S-Mare with Susan Jukes
whose father had a furniture and undertakers business in
Ledbury. I frequently enjoyed holidays in Ledbury with Susan
and her family. I now live in Canada and on one of my visits
to England tried to make contact with Susan but as the store
is no longer in Ledbury I had no leads to follow. I would
be very interested to hear from Susan or from anyone who
can help me to get back in touch with her.

Jones of New York, USA seeking out family history help
and information
I
know that Thomas Hammond born 9/7/1828 in Ledbury England,
married Julia Preston, born 25/12/1841, married 23/1/1853?
They had Amelia Jane Hammond who in turn married George
Todd in the States. Their daughter, Amelia Todd then in
turn married my grandfather, Joshua Oscar Jones. Thomas
and Julia Hammond are my gggrandparents through my father's
mother's side. I am looking for other relations to the Hammond's,
and possibly the Preston's since I assume that Julia Preston
was a local girl, even more so if the date of marriage is
correct. A local church had written to my father quite a
number of years ago detailing the family line, but Dad has
passed on and we don't know where he stored the info. They
had said that the Hammond family was a large one going back
quite far. Any help appreciated. Bob

Another

My
ancestors, the William Elton family lived in Ledbury from
at least 1477 to 1610, possibly still today. Is there a
source of information I can research to find their history.
